Join salema for a workshop with a difference exploring the science of life through the eastern psychology and western science of Forward and Backbends. Memories are shaped by our experiences in life, they give us the opportunity to reflect and learn which shapes how we move forward. More importantly from a scientific perspective the brain needs to remember and normally does through repetition. However equally important is the ability to learn new things in order to maintain it’s plasticity essential for good brain health.
Expect a well articulated sequence with familiar poses but longer holds to challenge the brain, mind and ego. Learn about the associated brain areas that are responsible for the mechanisms of attention regulation, body awareness, emotional regulation and change in perspective on the self.

Explore the connections between the practices of yoga, meditation, mindfulness, psychology, and neuroscience in an accessible and inspiring way. And how we can use our minds to create well being in our bodies, brains and relationships, discussion, breathwork, mindfulness practices (no vinyasa).

Join Salema for a workshop with a difference. A calming and introspective practice. Explore the science of life through the eastern psychology and the western science of Forward and Backbends. In the eastern psychology, specific yoga poses are said to represent a certain psychology and philosophy. For example forward bends are said to represent the past whilst back bends represent the future. Sometimes in forward bending we can be confronted with diffcult or painful memories and emotions. However in order to move forward we first have to acknowledge, accept and process the past by bringing it into the present to resolve before we can truly move forward. Memories are shaped by our experiences in life and they give us the opportunity for introspection and learning, shaping how we see ourselves and others. More importantly from a scientific perspective the brain needs to remember and normally does so through repetition. However equally important for good brain health lays in the learning of new things to maintain it’s plasticity.

THE STORY SO FAR
As yoga teachers and coaches one of the most common words we hear is FEAR. Because of this, we had an idea to create a monthly radio show we affectionately call MASTER FEAR ILLUMINATE LIFE.
Radio is such an incredible platform to reach the masses and for the lads and lasses that can’t reach their toes or make onto their mats. Our common goal has been to create and hold a safe, authentic space for people to challenge and explore their emotional intelligence through discussion on various methods of self-development: yoga, meditation, philosophy, coaching, psychology as well as neuroscience with tools and tips along the way. Each week has a theme, and we invite and welcome you to find your truth and become a rebel truth blazer.
Today Nicolette and Salema talked about tips for good mental health, resources and support networks, how to reduce the risk of mental illness and relationships around mental health.

Today we discussed the ABC and the 3 steps of Mindfulness as handy tools to find our authenicity. We collaborated on some lifestyle tips and readings to inspire and welcomed in a singer songwriter who had completely changed her life by tapping into her authenticity.
Today Nicolette collaborated with #SalemaVeliu to launch their new monthly show #MASTERFEARILLUMINATELIFE. They chatted with Yuri and Dom about their life journeys so far and how they could positively guide them along the way to stay #present and step away from #fear. Join them again next month.

At a height of 1,016ft (310m), The Shard is the tallest building in Europe, and is a dynamic symbol of London's skyline, recognisable throughout the world. It's designed by Architect Renzo Piano. Recommended by GQ Magazine, Tatler, Grazia, Women's Health Magazine. Our yoga classes are situated in The View at the top of The Shard. It's almost twice the height of any other viewing platform in London. All mats provided for your use and its a great way to kick start your weekend! We recommend you bring your smartphone, prepared for a selfie of all selfies!
The classes here offer unrivalled 360 degree views over London for up to 40 miles! You will get time to view before class and after, the class itself is from 8.30-9.30am. Our clients may also ascend to the highest accessible point of The Shard, Level 72, an open-air viewing platform exposed to the elements and sounds of the city below, offering the chance to gaze up to the shards of glass that form the top of the sculptural building as they disappear into the sky. On hotter days, we may even run the classes/meditation in the open air area if its not too windy!

The View from The Shard is just outside London Bridge tube/train station. The entrance is on Joiner Street, just off St Thomas’ Street. From the upper concourse, take the escalator beside The Shard down to Joiner Street. A member of Yogasphere will be there to greet you.
